How to run youth sports registration without fees for families

Why platform fees on family payments add up, and how a club can take registrations online without passing any fee to parents.

Why it matters. Many registration tools add a service fee to every family payment. On a $150 registration it looks small, but across 150 families it becomes money that leaves your community every season.

1. Know what you pay today. Add up subscription, per-registration fees and card processing for last season. Card processing is a real cost from the payment provider; a platform fee on top is a choice.

2. Let the club pay for the software, not the families. A flat club subscription is easier to vote at the annual meeting and keeps the price families see equal to the fee your board decided.

3. Take the money directly. Connect the club's own payment account so funds go straight to the club, without an intermediary holding them.

4. Offer payment plans. Splitting a fee in three or four installments removes most late payments and keeps kids on the field.

5. Publish one clear price. One amount per age group, with sibling discounts and financial aid explained on the same page.

With SportEscudo, families never pay a platform fee, on any plan.
